Welcome to our December newsletter, our last update of what again has been a very busy and positive year for Clement Windows Group.
Did you know Bristol has a very high concentration of heritage buildings for a UK city? Over one third of the city lies within designated Conservation Areas. Incredibly the city has over 4,000 Listed Buildings and 99 green spaces are locally designated historic parks and gardens.
As well as a number of new build projects set to dominate the city’s future skyline, numerous older buildings are undergoing renovation and development as part of the bid to invest in and regenerate the city; Clement have been proud to play a part in some of these.
In our last newsletter, we featured our work at The Pithay in Bristol, where we had recently replaced over 500 steel windows. Today we are pleased to share with you another conservation scheme where we again replaced the original fenestration with new replica steel windows – Bristol’s new YMCA building. You can read the full story below.
Following our involvement in the restoration of such important buildings in Bristol, we took part in RIBA’s Bristol CPD Roadshow at the Radisson Blu Hotel on 22nd November 2018. There was a great turnout and it was fantastic to meet so many people who were aware of our work locally. If you need help with your conservation project you can use this link to contact us, we look forward to hearing from you.
On 6th November Clement Windows Group was delighted to sponsor the Small Project of the Year (up to £5m) category at the 2018 Building Awards for the third year in a row. We were thrilled for Child Graddon Lewis who beat a shortlist of eight nominees to win the award for Victoria Wharf, a scheme they designed for Westminster Community Homes and Westminster City Council. A very enjoyable night was had by all.
Clement recently installed both internal and external steel screens into a private home in London which has had a major revamp and now looks absolutely stunning. We hope to release a case study soon but in the meantime we wanted to share an image of one of the internal screens with you below. Do get in touch with us with your own steel screen requirements; our dedicated Sales Team can help you achieve the look you require and offer you a no obligation quotation.
In November Clement Conservation Rooflights featured on two prime time television programmes on Channel 4. George Clarke’s ‘Old House New Home’ included an attractive Arts and Crafts property near Birmingham and our Clement 5 range of rooflights were used in the conversion. Clement rooflights also appeared in the 2018 series of Grand Designs House of the Year, sponsored by RIBA. The Old Court House, a Grade II listed house built largely during the sixteenth century was chosen as one of the longlist. Various sizes of Clement rooflights were installed in this fabulous project, you will find more information and a link to the case study below.
